Résumé

En Ecosse, le roi Fergus cherche un époux pour sa fille aînée, Merida. Cette adolescente au caractère bien trempé tolère mal qu'on lui impose un mari. Elle entre en conflit avec sa mère, la reine Elinor. Un jour, à la suite d'une énième dispute, la reine est frappée d'une terrible malédiction...
