Tension is building as judging day approaches in the vegetable plot competition at Beechgrove. Carole will pick a winner in a few weeks, so Lizzie is doing some maintenance and harvesting of her entry. She also checks on the edamame beans she sowed earlier in the series. These beans are great to add to packed lunches and snacks, but this year's crop might provide slim pickings. Meanwhile, Brian has the secateurs out again as he demonstrates how to prune laburnum, plus he and Lizzie have the week's handy hints. There is a demonstration of how to place and plant acers for maximum effect, plus a visit to a tropical garden paradise in Carnoustie.
