In 1989 an American band called Nirvana went on their first British tour. The band's special relationship to the country paved the way for them to become the biggest band in the world. Frontman Kurt Cobain was highly influenced by British music, from the Beatles and Led Zeppelin to lesser known bands like the Vaselines.
